Governors of Holmer Lake Primary School
Holmer Lake Primary School has a Governing Body which is responsible for our school and has Governors from a range of different professions with a range of skill sets. All Governors have completed a skills audit and we ensure that when new Governors are appointed they can bring additional skills and expertise to the Governing Body. In June 2014 we reconstituted the Governing Body in line with the new DfE regulations. There are now 13 Governors of which 1 is a Local Authority Governor, The Headteacher, 3 Parent Governors, 1 staff Governor and 5 Co-opted Governors, one Associate Governor, there are two vacancies – one parent and one Co-opted.
Governors are appointed for a four year period of office and are from a wide range of professions to bring expertise to the leadership and management of Holmer Lake Primary School. The Governing Body is responsible for ensuring that Holmer Lake is well led and holds the Headteacher to account for all aspects of the school. They are closely involved in strategic planning and future direction of the school. Governors meetings this year will focus on the core functions which are:
- Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND)
